Program outline

The development of students is extremely important, therefore this workshop dives more deeply into establishing and maintaining a constructive learning contract in the classroom with particular emphasis on planning, teaching, and evaluating a successful participant-centered class and developing a constructive process of questioning, listening, responding and encouraging independent thinking in students. It prepares students for case analysis and offers a comprehensive yet concise introduction to the key concepts and intellectual processes required for the reading, analysis, and interpretation of business case studies, guiding students toward constructive interaction with other students in the class.

This is a case-based course that involves focusing on the critical issue of the teacher-student contract, assess directive teaching style in terms of student learning goals, examine students/instructor interactions within a time span of a single class, interaction with shy and less verbal students,use of role-play in class discussion, handling class disruption, stimulate discussions andnumerical analysis in a case discussion. It will also involveemphasis on the different types of questions in shaping students’ classroom experienceand case training designed to meet the specialization of participants.
